A message from Emily Bly, PhD — Founder & Clinical Director.
In 2016, I reached a turning point in my career. At the time, I was working as an individual therapist, and I found myself constantly hitting the same wall: I was referring people out.
If I was working with an adult who needed couples therapy, I'd send them elsewhere. If a couple's child needed support, I'd give them the name of someone I might not even know personally. Even when I did know the clinician, our approaches didn't always align. We couldn't find the time to talk, and the "cohesion" I knew my clients deserved just wasn't there. I missed the rigor and the shared energy I had experienced during my residency and internship training — that "group brain" where experts actually talk to one another.
So, I decided to build the practice I was looking for.
I started with a single clinician in a one-room office. Today, we've grown into a team of more than a dozen specialists across two locations in Chappaqua and Hartsdale. But as much as we've expanded, the core of why we do this hasn't changed.
The word "Partners" isn't just a business term.
It's a philosophy that shows up in four distinct ways:
We are neither in silos nor ivory towers. When you walk into our offices, I want you to feel like you've found the "pros" you've been looking for, but I also want you to feel like you've found humans who get it. We are people with a wide range of life experiences, and we don't believe anyone is helped by a "judicious opinion." People are helped by empathy and understanding. We never judge the people who walk through our doors, just as we endeavor not to judge ourselves.
We also believe in the power of a little bit of humor. Because we work so closely together, our team is incredibly warm. We share a lot of laughter, and we bring that warmth into our work. Therapy is a creative endeavor, and at the heart of creativity is play and warmth.
